Lyapis 98 by Siarhei Mikhalok

Lviv’s Picasso nightclub is proud to host former Lyapis Trubetskoy and current Brutto frontman Siarhei Mikhalok on November 12th. His Lyapis 98 concert will celebrate “The best hits of [the past] 25 years” and will feature reggae, rock, gypsy, and music performed by the pioneers of “radical chanson”.

Jazz Bez Jives Back to Lviv

What began as a weekend of jazz in Lviv back in 2000 has evolved into one of Western Ukraine’s most highly anticipated winter musical festivals! This year the Jazz Bez festival returns to unite musicians from North America, Asia, and Europe with their Ukrainian counterparts and will take place in 8 Ukrainian cities in addition to the Western Ukrainian capital as well as 5 cities in Poland. By presenting great music to audiences from both established and emerging artists, organisers hope to add an intrinsic richness and purpose to people’s everyday lives by making the arts an inclusive activity.

British Cinema Fest 2016

The 16th annual British Film Festival will satisfy even the most demanding British cinema critics with its selection of recent British film hits appearing in the Western Ukrainian capital from November 24-28. Leopolitan cinema lovers and guests of the city will want to check out the event’s showcase comedy – John Michael McDonagh’s ‘War on Everyone’ starring Alexander Skargard and Theo James.

Sumo – Lviv Open Cup

Lviv’s first, largest, and surely heaviest sumo tournament will storm into the Halychyna Sport Complex on Saturday, November 19th as nearly eight tons of sumo wrestlers begin preliminary matches from noon.

The event is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 participants, including representatives from state and the regional level, investors, business, diplomats, international institutions, associations and banks. This year the event is expected to be visited by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who will made a speech on issues of vital importance. The two-day long program of the event will feature 11 discussion panels with over 20 speakers – leading experts and professionals of private business as well as decision makers.

Lviv Fashion Week – Spring / Summer 2017

The always glamorous Lviv Fashion Week returns to the Danylo Halytskyi International Airport and other locations around the city from October 26-30 to showcase some of Ukraine’s top fashion collections for Spring / Summer 2017. In addition to the airport, venues include: the Astoria Hotel, Panorama Hotel Lviv, Leopolis Hall, Arena Lviv, and the parking area at King Cross Leopolis. This celebration of fashion always attracts Ukraine’s most innovative designers and this event is no different. Leopolitans and guests of the city can expect to see Odesa’s Sofitie, Lutsk’s Ivanna Yukhymchuk, Mykolaiv’s GraNat by Natalia Grechana, Lviv’s Kateryna Karol, and of course, Oksana Mukha by Kateryna Yalova. This autumn’s premiere fashion event welcomes special guest designers Fedir Vozianov of Vozianov and Serge Smolin of IDoL and festivalgoers will not want to miss out on the fashion show by Italian brand Balossa, famous for their creative designs on white shirts.

Mashina Vrеmeni Coming to Lviv

Leopolitan music lovers and guests of the city will be treated to two concerts from legendary Russian rockers Mashina Vremeni (Time Machine) on October 17-18. Formed in the late 1960s, the group is often considered the fathers of Russian rock music and achieved cult status among several generations of rock fans in the Soviet Union.

Each year the Lviv Chocolate Festival brings together some of our favourite things in life – music, shopping, good times, and chocolate! Each event attracts some of Europe’s dreamiest, most mouth-watering chocolate creations by dozens of Ukrainian and foreign chocolatiers, from 100 tastings at the first event in 2008 to over 500 this year! This October over 30 chocolate vendors from around the country will share their chocolate delicacies with sweet-toothed Leopolitans and guests of the city, while celebrity chefs will demonstrate some of the city’s most exciting dessert dishes. And that’s not all!
