This spring Istanbul is gearing up for a mega tourist event – the city’s first Annual Shopping Festival – with the objective of attracting millions of visitors to the stores and boutiques of the ancient gateway city. As well as special deals on all the treasures for which Istanbul is synonymous – including handmade rugs and carpets, clothing, antique silver and jewellery, semi-precious stones, spices, sweets, and more – visitors will also be treated to a host of complimentary cultural events.
