Summer movie madness at Lev Film Festival
Lev Film Festival, July 18-24, Lviv Art Palace (Kopernika Street, 15).

This latest addition to the cultural life of the city promises to be popular with both young and old as it seeks to introduce the Lviv audience to some of the classics of world cinematography. Films will be screened in the open air against a backdrop of one of Lviv’s most majestic arts emporiums, while behind the silver screen film directors and producers will be offering masterclasses. The programme of the festival includes movies by François Truffaut, Stanley Kubrick, Charlie Chaplin, Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, Federico Fellini, Rainer Fassbinder, Ettore Scola, Aki Kaurismäki, Kira Muratova and Aglaya Kurnosenko.
Another highlight of the festival promises to be a contest of short film shot exclusively on mobile phone and focusing on Lviv. The three themes in which contestants will be competing are ‘Unique Lviv,’ ‘Lviv Nightlife’ and ‘Confessions to the Camera.
