Gogol Bordello to headline at the “Staray Misto” Lviv Rock Festival,
June 29, Ukraina Stadium, from 14:00

World famous Gypsy-punk band Gogol Bordello, who hail from Ukraine but have made their name in the US, will headline this year’s hotly-anticipated second annual Staray Misto Lviv Rock Festival. Gogol Bordello have won a string of international awards for their quirky and often inspired creative numbers that borrow heavily from Slavic folk traditions and gypsy music which adding a strand of particularly anarchic punk. Lead singer Eugene Hutz has emerged as a cultural icon of the underground New York scene in recent years, taking acting roles alongside
the likes of Madonna which have been largely won by his enormous stage presence. The band’s style has been described as being like ‘a cross between the Clash and the Pogues having a fight in Eastern Europe’, something which neatly sums up their wild and raucous performances.
As well as Gogol Bordello, this year’s festival will also be graced by local heroes such as VV, Haidamaki and Finland’s Korpiklaani.
