The Lviv-born Luzhny is popular amongst Ukrainian football fans after successful stints with Dynamo Kyiv, Arsenal, the Ukrainian national team, and Karpaty.

Most men will, at one point or another, complain about getting their wives off their backs – but not these fellows. No, these husbands were very specifically trying to get their better-halves onto their backs as they sprinted around the course during Lviv’s first-ever Wife-Carrying Championship. The event, held on the square in front of Ivan Franko University, attracted couples from around Western Ukraine that were willing enough to test their strength over the 254-metre course.
