NEW SHOPPING MECCA ARRIVES:
Late March saw the official opening of the long awaited King Cross Leopolis shopping and entertainment centre, a fitting monument to consumerism which is one of the biggest of its kind in Western Ukraine. This state-of-the-art leisure and shopping complex was developed by Italian company King Cross together with Ukraine’s Comfort-Invest, with total investment in the project reaching EURO 100 million. Construction works began in 2007 and the initial first stage of the complex, the Praktiker Hypermarket, was opened to public in 2008. The entire complex is now fully operational and its arrival in Lviv represents a huge leap forward for the city in terms of both consumer convenience and relaxation options. King Cross Leopolis is designed in line with the best in out-of-town retail park technologies currently found in Western Europe and as well as a wide range of branded retail outlets the complex also offers a multiplex cinema, bowling, an ice rink and a host of bars, cafes and restaurants. Nor will you have trouble finding somewhere to park – unlike some major consumer complexes in today’s Ukraine, King Cross Leopolis comes complete with ample parking facilities, with a total of 1,800 parking spaces in its above and below ground car parks.
