At Lviv Today we try to bring you the best of cultural life from across West Ukraine, and the highlight of the traditionally colourful Easter holiday period this year was in neighbouring Ivano-Frankivsk region, where the Hutsul village of Kosmach hosted a huge ethno festival. This was the third year in a row when the village has hosted such an event, and this time it attracted participants from across Ukraine who participated in everything from folklore plays to a traditional ethno-beauty contest. Meanwhile, there were masterclasses in cheese sculpture and an entire market full of delightful ethnic souvenirs reflecting the growing market for traditional Ukrainian clothing and decorative items.
