The Ningbo Glass Museum and Lviv’s Glass Museum are encouraging creative Leopolitans and guests of the city to take part in the Andriy Bokotey Award for young glass artists. Initiated by the Greenway Art Gallery in Wuxi, China, the winner will be able to take part in the Ningbo International Glass Art Conference, including an all-expense paid trip to China.

National Moguls Championship

As Ukraine’s biggest and most popular ski resort, it’s no surprise that Bukovel Ski Resort will host the National Moguls Championships from 20-24 February. The term ‘mogul’ comes from the German word ‘mugel’, meaning ‘mound’.

Event Industry Forum 2019

Arena Lviv hosted the Event Industry Forum 2019 last month – the biggest event designed specifically for the event management industry in Ukraine. The program was designed to widen the understanding of an event manager’s work, highlight new possibilities, set a new pace for the market, and inspire a new creative impulse for the industry. Well over 1,000 attendees saw speakers like Jenny Bjorkloff (Event Jenny, Belgium), Salvatore Sagone (BEA World, Italy), and Kartyna Nekleva (S*EVENT, Ukraine) and networked with influential festival and business forum organisers, producers, designers, PR managers, and CEOs.

The 8th of March, or International Women’s Day (IWD), is one of the biggest celebrations in Ukraine. But for how long is the question. While the day has its roots in the American protest movements of the 19th and 20th Centuries, the celebration has long been associated with the Soviet Union, which largely popularized and politicised the proceedings. As Ukraine continues to tinker with its holiday calendar – to move away from traditional Russian celebrations to a more European schedule – it begs the question: is time ticking on International Women’s Day in Ukraine?
